Description
The term “Aryana” is an ancient name for the Central Asian region which includes northern Afghanistan. Aryana rugs are woven by Turkmen weavers in Northern Afghanistan using an asymmetrical or Persian knot. They are eclectic in terms of design, containing nineteenth century tribal and village designs, contemporary and Gabbeh designs, and some more formal traditional rug designs.
