The original Turkmen rugs were produced by the Turkmen tribes of Turkmenistan, Afghanistan, and Persia. These rugs feature geometric designs that vary from tribe to tribe, with five of the most well-known designs being the Yomut, Ersari, Saryk, Salor, and Tekke.
